WELCOME TO THE ACADEMIE!

We are a small Renaissance re-enactors guild formed on February 1, 2005. Our aim is to teach people something about everyday life in Renaissance Europe (that's why we chose to call ourselves an "academie") through the use of period food, clothing, music and pasttimes such as games and needlework.

Upcoming Events

November 2007

We have worked our last faire for the year, but worry not! It will be a busy winter. We will have a meeting soon to decide exactly what we will be doing, but we have already discussed many options. Certainly, we will be improving our costumes, but we wish to improve the look of our encampment as well. This will involve adding decoration to the pavillion. making a roof liner for the gazebo and making a number of matching chair covers. Dan also hopes to create a few benches for guests to sit upon.

There are no plans for the holidays as yet, but we are certain to have some sort of Christmas party We are looking into applying for non-profit (tax exempt) status so that we might sell a few things and build up our treasury. Several suggestions have been made as to things we might sell. This would enable us to continue not charging dues.

We also hope to recruit a few new members. Anyone joining at this time would then have a character and a costume ready for next spring, so if you are interested and live in the Carson City, Reno, Minden or Lake Tahoe area please contact us.

Happy Holidays! Cool
